July 1st in Hawaii, Six of Swords

This is something I found in my Daily Tarot... No I don't read tarot cards, but I was at Astrology.com and it interested me! I am surprised at how accurate it is!

The Six of Swords card suggests that my power today lies in transition. I have what I need and am willing to trust the process order to move on, seek refuge or new opportunity. I'm not willing to remain where my perceptions are invalidated but being vulnerable I must rely on guidance to move in a new direction or trust that I can make it or be led to security and new hope. "Wherever you go, there you are." I am empowered by perseverance and my virtue is survival.

June 13th in Hawaii

Does the weather even matter anymore?! Its probably exactly the same temperature as it was in the last post... But I do hear it's getting warmer in Michigan.

Well, updates are in order!
So far, we have gotten a lot done. Meaning, we have done a lot. We have been to Waikiki Beach a few times, been to the Ala Moana Shopping Center a few times, eaten at Maui Mike's, gone to the Dole Pineapple Plantation, gone to Sunset Beach at the North Shore, the North Shore Marketplace, Matsumoto's... downtown Honolulu. We bought milk at Safeway for $5, got our car fixed at a mechanic in a random alleyway... Gone to Kailua and Kaneohe, Fort Shafter, Kaneohe Marine Corps Base, Fort Tripler, University of Hawaii-Manoa, Kapiolani Community College, Honolulu Community College...

Oy, we are about to start a movie, but I am going to try to upload a few pics...

May 21st In Hawaii

Currently 74deg in Hawaii... VOG problems...

I guess an update...

We will not put up a review of Magic Carpet Auto Transport until we get the car... Then we can tell the entire story! Lol...
The regular Postal Service was really good with getting us our packages, mostly undamaged, except one thing got super moved around (our unity sand...), and we believe that we have received the last of the boxes today!

Hawaii is wonderful. The weather is wonderful, the beaches are wonderful, the smell is wonderful! So many people are just so kind, just like at home, and there is so much to do and see. I have to have taken over 300 pictures... possibly over 500 in the 4 days I went out with my camera.

The school thing is kinda freaky yet, but I have figured out where I want to go... just not necessarily what I want to go for.

To anyone who says this place isn't paradise... I don't know where they are living. If you are able, and are living in a nice situation, and are rather optimistic, this is the closest to paradise you can find. Obviously if you are poorer than poor and somehow can't get a job and are living in the park with a set of garbage bags... it might not seem like paradise. But for someone who lived in Detroit most of her life, and could see both the good (great even) and bad, I feel I am justified by saying that this place is great! Oh and does it smell good!

May 3rd in Michigan

33deg and snowing in Michigan, 83deg and mostly cloudy in Hawaii.

Just a check in...
The bed: We are not shipping it. It cost more to ship it than to buy another one... but I am feeling quite bad about it all. I do not want my bed, from my wedding, my gift, to be a universal bed in someone else's house 4000 miles away. This was our second biggest wedding gift and it shouldn't be on the floor, or spread out among someone's attic/a different mattress/garage/guest room. You get what I mean... But whatever, this is the same as with the car... Not up to me. It will save us money, but it's just disturbing me and I don't think I'll ever get over it.

The car: HA! Oh my goodness. Magic Carpet Auto Transport is who we are going through. We were supposed to have the car shipped Monday-Thursday range of this past week. Not happening. We moved out of our apartment building, so can no longer ship it out of that parking lot, and the company is just not working out. We are going to be leaving on Wednesday of this coming week and they don't even have a driver for us. I know we live far away but gosh! We paid these people immediately almost 2 grand, before they had a driver. We have Crystal as our worker, and yet every time we call to find something out she isn't there, on the phone, or just stepped out. Her desk must be filled with postits because everyone else we talk to says that they'll leave a message for her. They have had a month to find a driver... And when we leave, we cannot be here to send it off, sign any papers.. And I refuse to have to leave it 20miles away from where it would have been picked up from originally, and have to pay more for them to go there.... I hope you know what I mean.

The tickets: Over and done with... Well so far, I guess it wont be done with until we leave on the plane.

The shipments: USPS is gonna hate us! Oy, so far... we have probably mailed at least 25 boxes... AT LEAST, and have spent perhaps $700... I guessed it would cost $250... NOT! If only everything was media mail!

4days! I will upload a picture of our snowstorm in May... I swear this was overnight, a few days ago it was warm. Today it is the beginning of winter again!

April 21 in Michigan

46deg in Michigan, 78deg in Hawaii.

Just a short update!
We have 16 days! OMG! It still feels like we live here, as most of our stuff is still out and not packed, but we got rid of one of our cars... and packed some boxes... It's a start!

Final companies used: Magic Carpet Auto Transport and Orbitz. USPS...

I'm not freaking out, I just wish that once we get there, at least for a little while, we are really in the middle of nowhere and not downtown right off the bat. Just to ease the transition from a small town in the middle of nowhere to a big city in the middle of an ocean far far away from small towns... Just a little shack on the beach for a while might be nice...

April 11 in Michigan.

This is what we will be leaving... Darn, I'm NOT going to miss it! Last night, all the snow was melted. This morning... uRgggh!!!
